1. Install Extensio
Get Extensio from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons. It also works on Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, and any Chromium-based browser.
2. Know the popup
Click the Extensio icon to open the popup. At a glance:
- Header — shows how many extensions are enabled (e.g. 12/34), the profile selector, and the menu (Settings, Manage Rules, Changelog).
- Search bar — filters instantly by name, alias, or your private notes.
- Profile toolbar — the active profile's name plus Enable All / Disable All.
- Extension grid/list — click a card to toggle the extension on or off. The ⋮ menu holds details, options, rules, and uninstall. Switch between grid and list view in Settings.
3. Create your first profile
A profile is a saved on/off state for all your extensions — think "Work", "Shopping", or "Web Dev". Switching profiles applies the whole set in one click.
- Open the profile selector in the header and choose Create Profile.
- Name it (e.g. Work), pick a color, and choose whether to start from your currently enabled extensions.
- Toggle extensions on or off while the profile is active — Extensio remembers the state per profile.
- Switch back to Default anytime to return to your manual setup.

4. Create your first site rule
Site rules automate a single decision: "on this website, this extension should be on (or off)." Classic examples: enable a coupon extension only on shopping sites, or disable a noisy extension on your banking site.
- Open the ⋮ menu on any extension card and choose Manage Rules (or use the ⚡ badge).
- Enter a URL pattern like
amazon.com— subdomains are matched automatically. - Pick the action: Enable on this site or Disable on this site.
- Save. Extensio's background engine now applies it whenever you browse — even with the popup closed.

5. Rename extensions & add notes
Open ⋮ → View Details on any extension:
- Alias — a custom name shown everywhere in Extensio (the real name stays in the tooltip). Turn "Tampermonkey BETA" into "Userscripts".
- Notes — a private note that never appears in the list but is found by search. Great for "installed for project X" reminders.
6. Make it yours
- Dark mode & language — Settings → Appearance. Extensio speaks 11 languages.
- Backup — Settings → Export Data saves your profiles, rules, aliases, and notes to a JSON file you can restore on any machine.
- Update Radar — Extensio watches your other extensions for silent updates and shows exactly which permissions changed. Look for the red dot.
